The acronym BPM CBOK® stands for “Guide to the Business Process Management Common Body of Knowledge” and is the intellectual basis for the CBPP® certification. It can be ordered as pdf or as print version on demand in English on amazon.com, or it is available as a book in German (ISBN: 978-3-921313-91-6). Members of gfo/ÖVO/SGO can get a free pdf download in German. A version in French is underway and will be available later. A body of knowledge (BOK) is a popular instrument presenting the state of knowledge of all relevant practical BPM areas and is the basis for the individual certification. However, it is hardly possible to collect all knowledge of BPM and make it available in one edition due to the large amount of books, articles, etc. The CBOK as a limited collection of salient knowledge can only be a guide facilitating the access to the broad range of knowledge of BPM overall. All relevant areas of knowledge and practical methods and techniques are included in the CBOK. In addition it includes links and references to other sources of information. The CBOK as a editorial work evolves and is dynamic; it needs a continuous development in order to always represent the current state of practice and knowledge. Numerous experts in the USA and Germany have worked several years to create the BPM CBOK® (authors are mentioned in the appendix of the CBOK). The current version of the CBOK represents a medium level of knowledge development. The further development of the BPM CBOK® guide is the responsibility of the Education Committee with delegates of ABPMP International and the associated European members of EABPM All readers are kindly asked to contribute to the enhancement of this guide by providing feedback, reviews and recommendations. Please send feedback on the German BPM CBOK® to info@eabpm.org.
